about me

I grew up sewing and made many of my prom/dance dresses, as well as my wedding gown. I started doing alterations professionally when I was 17 years old at C Family Alterations in Tempe, AZ and first struck out on my own when I opened Brave Tailor Alterations in 1997 (I still have the original shingle I hung on the front of my house way back when). I have continued to sew in a more corporate setting throughout the years, spending time in a few different shops around Utah Valley including the Finish Tailor (cannot say enough good things about them), JC Penneys in the men's suit department, and recently a stint at David's Bridal, learning the ins and outs of bridal alterations. I took some time out here and there to toss pizzas, work at a summer camp for the handicapped, and have 5 babies. I feel very blessed concerning the circumstances that have come together this year that have enabled me to re-open my own shop.
